Our take
A 2-pack of adjustable shredded-foam pillows with one cool-to-touch side. Remove fill to tune the loft, as with a Coop, for much less money. The cooling figures are the manufacturer's, and expect some initial smell. There's no independent testing yet.
Pros
- Two adjustable pillows at a budget price
- Remove fill to tune side-sleeper loft
- Cool-to-touch cover side
Cons
- Cooling claim (4-9 F surface drop) is manufacturer-only
- Shredded foam can clump/off-gas initially (typical)
- No editorial testing found
- Only the covers are washable; the inner foam isn't
- CertiPUR-US claim is unconfirmed: SUPA MODERN isn't in the CertiPUR-US directory
What you get in the 2-pack
You get two queen pillows filled with shredded memory foam and microfiber, each with one cool-touch face and one soft face. The listing gives the fill as 85% cross-cut memory foam and 15% soft microfiber, and elsewhere calls the foam gel memory foam. The soft face is 100% polyester. The cool face is 50% polyester and 50% “cooling fiber,” and the listing doesn't say what that fiber is. Each queen pillow measures 30 x 20 inches with a listed thickness of 7 inches, and the pair weighs 7.7 lb[1].
Mixing foam with microfiber is the same approach Coop takes with its Original, which blends cross-cut memory foam and microfiber[2]. A side zipper lets you add or remove fill[1], and the instruction sheet linked from the listing adds that you can move fill around inside to change the height of different parts of the pillow[3].
The same listing sells Standard, Queen and King sizes, singly or in pairs, plus a Firm Queen pair, an “Icy” version and a crescent-shaped version. This review covers the standard queen pair, which the listing rates medium[1]. The pillows are sold by Super Modern and shipped by Amazon[1].
Loft and firmness on your side
At 7 inches it starts tall, and like any memory foam pillow it compresses under your head, so set the loft by feel rather than by the spec. Memory foam recovers slowly and sinks gradually under weight, and it's firmer in a cold room and softer when warm[4]. The listed thickness is the pillow at rest, not the height your head ends up at. The listing says side sleepers need higher loft to fill the gap between neck and shoulder[1], which is true as far as it goes. How much height you need depends on your shoulder width and your mattress, so measure your gap first with our loft guide.
The listing describes a gentle sink-in feel that isn't overly soft or fluffy, with sturdy support underneath[1]. The instruction sheet's fix for a pillow that feels too hard or too high is to take some filling out[3]. If you have broad shoulders and want a denser pillow from the start, the Firm Queen pair is the variant to look at, though this listing doesn't say how its fill differs[1]. No independent tester has published a firmness reading for either version, and our scores are judgments rather than lab measurements, as our methodology explains.
The pair gives you room to experiment. Set one pillow to the height your measurement suggests and leave the other full, then sleep on each for a few nights. Whichever you don't use for your head can go between your knees; our knee pillow guide covers when that helps a side sleeper.
Setting up the pair
Give both pillows a few hours to recover from the vacuum pack before you judge their height. The instruction sheet says a pillow may arrive flat after weeks in a vacuum-sealed bag. Shake and pat it, then leave it about six hours to expand fully[3]. Memory foam is also stiffer in the cold[4], so a pair delivered on a winter day will feel firmer at first than it will a few days later.
Think about the pillowcase if you bought these for the cool face. Cool-touch fabric works at the point of contact[5], so a standard pillowcase puts a different fabric against your cheek. SUPA MODERN sells its own cooling pillowcases separately[1]. The other option is a thin, breathable case; our cooling guide explains which fabrics help. The listing gives the pillowcase length as 30 inches[1], so buy queen cases. If a freshly washed cover is hard to get back on, the sheet's tip is to take some filling out, put the cover on, then refill it[3].
How much the cool side actually does
The cool face should feel cold when you first lie on it, but the cooling numbers are the seller's own, and only one side has the fabric. The listing says the ice-silk layer lowers surface temperature by around 4 to 9°F, and the brand's section of the listing quotes a q-max above 0.45[1]. It names no lab, no method and no comparison fabric for either figure.
Q-max is the peak rate of heat flow from skin into a fabric at the moment of contact, and textile labs use it to rate how cold a fabric feels to the touch. In a study of 40 summer fabrics, that first-touch coolness depended mostly on the fabric's thickness and how much heat it can absorb for its volume[5]. So it describes the first touch, not the third hour. That's why our cooling guide treats “degrees cooler” claims as marketing until a brand shows its method.
Over a full night, the fill matters more than the cover. Air moves more freely through shredded fill, and Sleep Foundation notes that a solid piece of foam generally holds more heat than shredded foam[6]. On your side, your cheek rests on whichever face you choose, so you can turn the pillow to the cool face when you wake up warm and to the polyester face on a cold night.
The listing also credits the National Sleep Foundation with figures saying a cool sleep environment helps you fall asleep 20% to 30% faster, without naming a study[1]. The trial evidence on cooling bedding is less encouraging. A 2025 review of nine randomized trials found no differences in how fast people fell asleep, how long they slept or how their sleep stages broke down, though the certainty of that evidence was low to very low[7]. A cool pillow can make you more comfortable. It isn't a sleep treatment.
The listing also says the pillow helps reduce night sweats[1]. A cooler surface may make a sweaty night more comfortable, but sweating at night has causes a pillow can't touch. The NHS lists menopause, anxiety, some medicines, low blood sugar and alcohol among the common ones, and advises seeing a doctor if night sweats regularly wake you, come with a high temperature, or come with weight loss you can't explain[8]. The night sweats section of our cooling guide covers what helps.
Certifications and the unboxing smell
The listing claims CertiPUR-US foam and an OEKO-TEX cover, and only the cover claim has outside backing you can see. The title and bullets describe the shredded memory foam as CertiPUR-US certified[1]. When we searched the CertiPUR-US directory in October 2026, SUPA MODERN wasn't listed, and CertiPUR-US says it can't vouch for companies missing from its directory[9]. Shredded foam has its own gap. CertiPUR-US's shredded-foam program, which requires all the shredded foam in a product to be certified, only opens for applications on November 1, 2026[10]. A brand can still buy its foam from certified producers, but you can't confirm that from outside.
The cover claim is better supported. Amazon's Climate Pledge Friendly panel on the listing names OEKO-TEX STANDARD 100 and gives certificate number 25.HCN.76685[1]. STANDARD 100 is a textile label that tests every thread and accessory against a list of harmful substances[11]. OEKO-TEX's Label Check shows that certificate as valid. It's held by Nantong Sijie Er Home Textile, a Chinese maker, and covers pillows with knitted polyester, polyethylene and bamboo viscose fabrics over polyurethane foam, in product class I[12]. Neither label says anything about cooling or comfort.
Expect some foam smell when you open the vacuum pack. The instruction sheet linked from the listing has a section on removing the “peculiar smell”: run the pillow through the dryer, or open the inner case and let it air. One oddity: the same sheet mentions a cooling bamboo cover and a slight bamboo smell, while this listing's fabric breakdown doesn't mention bamboo[3,1], so the sheet may have been written for another SUPA MODERN model. Our memory foam guide explains where foam odor comes from and how fast it fades.
Washing, durability and returns
Wash the covers, not the foam. The listing's care field says machine wash and adds that the inner gel memory foam is not washable[1]. The linked instruction sheet says to separate the outer cover from the inner pillow, machine wash cold without bleach, tumble dry on low and make sure everything is completely dry before use. It also suggests tumbling the pillow on low heat every three months to maintain its firmness[3]. The sheet's wording could be read as washing the inner pillow too. The listing is explicit that the foam isn't washable, so wash only the covers.
There's no independent durability data. We found no editorial test of this pillow, and it isn't in our coded owner data, which is why this page has no owner sentiment section. Memory foam pillows typically last two to three years, according to the foam manufacturer Wirecutter interviewed[13]. Shredded fill settles as it ages, and SUPA MODERN sells loose shredded foam on the same listing page if you need to top a pillow up[1]. With two pillows, you can also rotate them.
Warranty terms are thin. A bullet on the listing promises a lifetime replacement service if you're not satisfied but sets out no terms, and the warranty field links to a general Amazon page rather than to any terms[1]. The instruction sheet has no warranty section either[3]. The listing shows a 30-day refund or replacement window[1], and Amazon's general return policy covers items in original or unused condition[14], so check the return terms before you open both pillows.
How it compares with Xtreme Comforts and Coop
Choose the SUPA MODERN for two pillows and a cool face; choose the Xtreme Comforts for a longer track record. The Xtreme Comforts is all shredded foam and GREENGUARD certified[15], and Wirecutter has recommended it since 2016[13]. It carries a lifetime limited warranty against defects[16]. Its cover is micro-vented rather than cool to the touch[17], and testers describe it as dense and firm, with a smell some samples took days to lose[13,18,19].
The Coop Original uses a similar foam and microfiber blend, includes an extra half pound of fill, and is both CertiPUR-US and GREENGUARD Gold certified[2]. Coop takes returns for 100 days on direct orders[20], and Wirecutter's testers found it held its shape better than other shredded pillows[13]. It costs far more per pillow. For cooling pillows with independent testing behind them, start with the top picks in our cooling guide, where the SUPA MODERN is the budget choice.
Who should buy it
It suits hot side sleepers on a budget who are willing to tune the fill, and couples who need two pillows at once. The adjustable fill handles the height question, and the cool face gives you a fresh surface to turn to in the night. Skip it if you want proof that a cooling feature works for a whole night, if a confirmed CertiPUR-US listing matters to you, or if you want a pillow you can wash whole. If you're mainly after relief from neck pain, our neck pain guide covers what the evidence favors.
If you also spend part of the night on your stomach, a 7-inch pillow needs most of its fill removed before it's low enough. The brand also sells an ultra-thin memory foam pillow listed at 2.75 inches[1], and our side and stomach sleepers guide covers how to handle both positions with one pillow.
